Sometimes you need help to become more Self-Aware

Updated: Feb 13

Talking affirmations and visualisations.

For me, this is about connecting to your past to understand and be grateful for the present….enabling you to plan for the future.

Becoming Self-aware.

Yet we are incredibly complicated and often our own worst enemy.

The big breakthrough for me was actually getting other people to help.

Asking people who are close to me to help me figure out my key strengths/gifted talents and areas of improvement/weaknesses.

(See below the email I sent to close connections…people whom I had worked with, family and friends…I received about 8 responses).

By understanding and refining them you can become a lot more self-aware. Really work to your strengths and finding ways to mitigate or manage your weaknesses.

In terms of visualisation.

You have your head, heart, health goals.

I know for me when my day is up I want to put my ashes in this lake to join my mum.

Thinking of your end game…what would you ask yourself 30 years on from now….you will start making some better decisions.

This gets you thinking about your legacy and really what is important.

Have a great week!

This an email i sent to asking people who are close to me to help me figure out your key strengths/gifted tales and areas of improvement weakness.

People whom I had worked with, family and friends…aim to receive between 5 and 10 responses.

Hope all is well and that you having a great week?!

Thank you so much for reading this message. This isn't an easy one for me to send, but it is extremely important to me, so I sincerely appreciate you investing your valuable time reading (and hopefully responding to) it.

This email is going to only a select group of people. I am really hope you do not mind me selecting you to be part of my A-Team for growth.

You know me pretty well, and I’m hoping will give me honest feedback about:

My strengths, my gifted talents - the special thing(s) I can do with competency and ease.

And more importantly my weaknesses (aka "areas of improvement.")

I've never done anything like this before, but I feel that for me to grow and improve as a person, I need to get a more accurate picture of how I'm showing up to the people who matter most to me. 3 mentors of mine, have all suggested this is a ‘game-changing’ exercise to get the most out of life!

In order to become the person I need to be to create the life and contribute to others at the levels that I want, I need your feedback.

So, all I'm asking is that you take just a few minutes to email me back with what you honestly think are my top 2-3 "strengths" and my top 2-3 "areas of improvement."

That's it. And please don't sugarcoat it or hold anything back. I will not be offended by anything that you share. In fact, the more "brutally" honest you are, the more leverage it will give me to make positive changes in my life.

Thank you again, and really do hope we will get to meet up soon. I’ll let you know how this exercise was of value...would be happy to do the same for you.
